Paiensville City Recieves $2 Million For Hospital
The City of Painesville received notice on November 20th, 2009 at a Clean Ohio Council Hearing that they were the recipients of a $2 Million dollar grant for the demolition and remediation of the former Lake East Hospital building. City Manager Rita C. McMahon presented to the Council stating that "the project is a collaborative regional approach to revitalizing Painesville's economy by creating a critical mass of people who live in the downtown, supporting its businesses and amenities, while helping it to become a vibrant and enduring place. State Senator Tim Grendell also attending the meeting in support of the project. In a letter sent to the Council he stated "The city has been proactive in determining its future and anticipating the impacts a vacant building in the heart of the community will have."
